Hello Fellow Pioneers,
Well, my friends we have made it thru a very rough year to say the least. A lot of sorrow in many many families, but a lot positive in others. I hope this is something we won’t have to experience again for a long time.
But as always, our Pioneers have been out helping the poor, the sick and the hungry with on going projects. We received eight grants from the Don MacKenzie Charitable Foundation Fund this year.
Received funds for School Supplies (SoAZ), Save the Bee’s (SoAZ), Acacia Elementary (PHX), New Mexico Children’s Home Christmas. and Hope Women’s Center (Coolidge).
We also received a $500 anonymous donation to the Chapter and the person who donated also submitted a matching fund request to the company they worked for and we received that. Such a generous thing for someone to do.
We were able to give two scholarships this year one from the Chapter and one from Southern Arizona. The winners were Carson Di Maria and Hanna Lehrfeld. Each receiving $1000. We had many applicants and was very hard to decide on the winners. The Madlyn Rollins bequest, through Legacy West Pioneers awarded 10 – $1000 scholarships to Apache Junction High School in Apache Junction, AZ. New Mexico will be giving theirs out soon.
We are still fundraising on our web site aztelecompioneers.org. Also, on our website we have a donate button if you want to donate directly to our Chapter.
We are looking for volunteers to help with projects, be a board member. The Pioneers are going strong in Arizona and New Mexico and want to keep it going with help from the members and leadership roles from people that want to keep us strong and helpful to the community.
